What to Expect
Your appointment begins with a comprehensive assessment by one of our experienced doctors. We will examine the lesion, discuss your symptoms and explain the available treatment options. Where appropriate, removal can be arranged using local anaesthetic in our clinic.
If there is any clinical concern regarding a lesion, it may be sent for laboratory analysis (histopathology) to provide a definitive diagnosis.
Skin Biopsy Services
In addition to minor surgical procedures, we also provide skin biopsy services where clinically indicated. A skin biopsy involves removing a small sample of skin or a skin lesion for examination by a specialist laboratory (histopathology). This can help diagnose a wide range of skin conditions and determine whether further treatment or investigation is required.
Biopsies may be recommended for lesions that are changing in appearance, have unusual features, fail to heal, or where a definitive diagnosis cannot be made through clinical examination alone. Your doctor will discuss the procedure with you, explain why a biopsy is recommended and review the results once they become available.
Where appropriate, biopsy and lesion removal can often be performed during the same appointment, helping to avoid unnecessary delays in diagnosis and treatment.
