Service Description
CUC provides a doctor-led medical weight loss clinic in Kildare and Cavan for patients looking for professional, evidence-based support with weight management. Your programme begins with a comprehensive medical consultation to review your weight history, current health, medications, lifestyle, previous weight-loss attempts and individual goals. Your doctor will also assess for medical conditions or risk factors that may influence weight and overall health. Where appropriate, your assessment may include blood tests and health screening to evaluate factors such as blood glucose, cholesterol, thyroid function, liver health and other relevant markers. For suitable patients, your doctor may discuss prescription weight-management medication alongside nutrition, physical activity and sustainable lifestyle changes. Medication is not appropriate for everyone and will only be prescribed following clinical assessment, with ongoing monitoring where required. Our focus is not simply on a number on the scales. CUC takes a medical approach to weight management, considering metabolic health, cardiovascular risk, long-term wellbeing and realistic, sustainable goals. Treatment plans, medication costs, blood testing and follow-up requirements vary according to individual needs and will be discussed during your consultation.
Cancellation Policy
CUC Medical Booking & Cancellation Policy By booking an appointment with CUC Medical, you agree to the following terms. Cancellations & Changes We require at least 48 hours' notice to cancel, reschedule or amend an appointment. Changes made with less than 48 hours' notice will incur a €50 cancellation fee. Failure to attend without notice will also result in a €50 fee. Outstanding fees may need to be paid before further appointments can be booked. Genuine exceptional circumstances may be considered at CUC's discretion. Late Arrivals Please arrive on time. Significant lateness may result in your consultation being shortened or rescheduled if there is insufficient time to provide appropriate medical care. A €50 fee may apply where an appointment cannot proceed due to late arrival. Medical Appointments Appointment duration and fees vary depending on the service booked. Please select the most appropriate appointment type when booking. Additional concerns, investigations or procedures may require a separate appointment or additional fee. Booking a specific service does not guarantee that a test, prescription, procedure, referral or treatment will be provided. All medical care is subject to clinical assessment and will only be provided where considered medically appropriate. Medical Information Please provide complete and accurate information regarding your symptoms, medical history, medications, allergies and relevant previous investigations or treatments. Additional tests, blood tests, imaging or specialist referral may be recommended following consultation and may incur separate fees. Prescriptions, Certificates & Forms Prescriptions, medical certificates, referral letters, forms and other documentation are issued at the clinician's discretion and only where clinically appropriate. Additional fees may apply. Test Results & Follow-Up Some investigations may require a follow-up consultation to discuss results or ongoing treatment. Patients should ensure their contact details are accurate and attend follow-up appointments where advised. Emergencies CUC Medical is a private primary-care service and is not a substitute for an Emergency Department.
